On April 19, 1943, scientist Albert Hoffman ingested 250 micrograms of LSD, then rode his bicycle home from the lab.\
\
It was the first intentional LSD trip.\
\
The date of that first trip, April 19, has since become known as Bicycle Day, and it\'s celebrated by many psychedelic enthusiasts.\
\
Does anyone know if there\'s a similar holiday for MDMA? A cursory search didn\'t turn up much.\
\
If it doesn\'t already exist, I nominate June 19 to be Shulgin Day, Alexander Shulgin\'s birthday, to celebrate his rediscovery of MDMA, and his discovery of hundreds of other psychoactive compounds.\
\
While living in obscurity now, I think Shulgin will someday be recognized as one of the great neurochemists of the 20th Century.
