Elizabeth Yes, it's terrible what _the mother_ has done. Imagine that she had kidnapped another family's child, and tricked her husband into believing it was his. Does her husband have the right to deny the return of the child to its rightful family, just because he has been the only "father" that the child has ever known? I would say no, as painful as it might be for both him and the child. The child is not his--his real parents have a greater claim to the child than he does. IMO, if he has no _rights_ as a father, he also has no _obligations_ as a father.
