I was a long-time Mac (Desktop) user who switched to Linux (Ubuntu). I've always been Android on the phone. (Apple has draconian control over their phones. I will never use any OS that tries to dictate to me what I can install on my own phone. ) Apple laptop hardware used to be high quality and upgradeable, but then they started making it hard/impossible to do any upgrades. Macs are better then Windows, but Linux is better than both. Using Linux is not much different than using a Mac in my experience.
