Have you seen The Killer starring Michael Fassbinder? It features one of my top two fight scenes in cinema. (The other being the spa fight scene in Eastern Promises). Both scenes work well because they convey a real sense that the protoganist was mortal, and could be hurt or killed just like anyone else. The bad guys were also skilled fighters, and didn't make obviously stupid moves. I'd love to see more action movies with a female protagonist that took seriously into account the limitations of height, reach, strength and speed that most women operate under. It would make for more interesting scenes (the female lead would have to fight a lot smarter), and it wouldn't destroy the dramatic tension (by making it clear that ridiculously strong plot armor was protecting the lead). The Hunt starring Betty Gilpin does this pretty well, especially early in the movie.
